Web Design

We love web design at Oak – the best thing for us is seeing a web site design work for our customers and really give their business a boost. We’ve had some great success stories where our clients have won some big contracts thanks to the impression their website had.

We design and develop websites of all shapes and sizes, and have plenty of experience doing so.

Below is a guide to the web design and build process we follow at Oak Creative.

Stage 1

Stage 1: Let's Meet

Meet

The most important stage of any design. We can meet you at your place or ours and really get a good idea of what we both want to achieve.

Quote

We’ll send you a detailed quote with timeframes and costs all clearly outlined.

Design

Once you’ve supplied content, we’ll start on the designs.

Assess hosting needs

If you already have hosting and a domain name we’ll need your details, if not we can recommend a package that best suits you.

Presentation

We’ll present our designs to you.

Feedback

We’ll take onboard your feedback and amend our designs if required.

Stage 1 sign-off

Once we’re all happy with the design, we then move onto the building of the site…

Stage 2

Stage 2: Build

WordPress installation

We’ll install the latest version of WordPress, our chosen content management system that allows our customers to easily change copy and images.

Structural development

We’ll build the framework of the website as well as translating the designs into code, as well as develop the site structure.

Feature development

We’ll code any bespoke features you requested for your website, such as slideshows or scrolling news articles.

Adding content

Once the structure and features are in place, we’ll populate your website with your content and imagery that you have provided to us.

Initial testing

We’ll look at your site in various browsers. Some web browsers display sites in different ways, so we’ll make sure yours is looking consistently good.

Stage 2 sign-off

Once you’re happy with the build of the site we can move onto the final stage…

Stage 3

Stage 3: Launch

Final testing

Now we’ll run a fine toothed comb over the site, tying up loose ends, making sure everything works as it should across web browsers on PC and Mac.

Tracking

We’ll add in tracking codes to allow you to track the visitors to your site. The stats you gain from this will be invaluable to any future SEO or PPC campaigns, as well as letting you know the behaviour of your customers on your site.

Search engine submission

We’ll alert Google and other search engines to the existance of your site, meaning they will start listing it sooner.

Training

We’ll provide WordPress training for you and show you the ropes.

SEO (optional)

This is where your Search Engine Optimisation work can begin.

…but relationship doesn’t end here – we’re always at the end of the phone if you need us.
