Oak Creative is set in the beautiful Kent countryside in a converted pub. Our studio backs right onto Folkestone race course - it's a great location! We are central to Ashford, Canterbury and Folkestone (M20, J11) and just 1 hour from London Charing Cross.
"The Royal Oak Building is where we call home".
Client expectation is everything to Oak Creative, that's why we use the most up to date computers and software. We are proud of our studio, it's a creative haven and we have even kept the bar! We can offer a private meeting room and an open plan creative area, all set in the original Royal Oak public house.
It's easy to park so why not drop in and meet us for a coffee and a chat.
So come on... what are you waiting for?
About Caroline
After graduating from Art School Caroline's first job was as a paste-up artist in an Advertising Agency.
After a year of this and very sticky fingers she decided move on and gain experience in photography and print, then went back to College for 2 years to study Statistics, Accountancy and Law.
Upon leaving, Caroline worked in Newspapers for 3 years before being approached to start up the in-house design studio at SAGA Holidays.
12 years later, in 1991, she established her own business in partnership with her life long friend Gerry Pack, primarily a design and print agency. Under Caroline's leadership, it very soon built a strong reputation for reliability and the ability to deliver cost-effective value for money solutions to clients' needs.
About Rick
A wealth of experience too vast and varied to mention but incase you might be interested... Rick started as a budding Illustrator working in Publishing back in the early 90's. Having had several childrens' books published he decided that may be it would be nice to see some daylight and talk to real people. So now he interacts with clients working on design visuals, corporate branding, and his speciality, illustration. Working with traditional media and computer software, Rick has an annoying eye for detail and will lavish this on every project, well as long as he's had his morning coffee.
About Pip
Pip has lived and breathed design forever - or does it just feel that way? Since art college she has spent her time working at design agencies in London and Kent. Pip has gained a very broad range of experience during this time (and amazingly hasn't become too cynical). She confesses that Oak is the best place to work for - ever. Pip brings inspiration, vitality and creativity (and a little insanity) to the studio working on all kinds of projects but particularly enjoying the creative packaging work that we do. With a wealth of typographic and traditional design skills along with 20 years of computer design and tea making skills she is a key member of our amazing Oak team.
About Stu
Stuart graduated from Plymouth University with a BSc(Hons) in MediaLab Arts (now known as Digital Art & Technology). The course has since been described as a 4 year car crash, in one car a team of internationally recognised computer scientists and in the other a merry band of artists, musicians and theorists. The perfect environment for budding new media designers. 10 years later the current industry buzz phrase is a front end interface and user experience designer but that basically describes someone that is passionate about visual design on the web through the use of graphics, typography, standards based HTML/CSS and search engine optimisation for online marketing.
About Ewen
Ewen has worked in the design industry for 10 years, working in publishing and digital media. His work has covered many aspects of design from print, web design and illustration (he is a member of the Association of Illustrators). Ewen is a creative individual and has a natural artistic flair which can often been seen in his work. He has advanced skills in Photoshop and other industry software. It has been said that Ewen has spent more time at art college than anyone else. He managed to etch up 7 years, studying at The London College of Printing, University of Greenwich and West Kent College, Tonbridge. I suppose the 7 year itch does exist as he decided to get a job. Ewen has lived and worked in Australia where he ran an art gallery in Sydney. Ewen is a practicing artist and is represented by the Fairfax Gallery in Royal Tonbridge Wells.
About Barry
Barry graduated with a BA(Hons) in Visual Communications in Graphic Design at KIAD Maidstone before a brief stint living in a warehouse in Birmingham with a strange bunch of individuals comprised of breakdancers, MA art students and Mario Kart experts. Barry soon became entangled in the web and after a short stint as a copywriter reeling off some of the most atrocious puns in the history of man, he now sports over 7 years' experience designing and building websites and emails. His skills include web design, CSS, XHTML, email campaigns, designing web banners and copywriting.
About Charlie
Charlie recently graduated from the University of Brighton with a Bsc(Hons) in Computing, after moving back along the South Coast he joined Oak as the whizz kid. He now is responsible for creating bespoke content management systems for clients. His weapon of choice is the fantasticly flexible Wordpress. Charlie's wizardry also extends to PHP, CSS and SEO. When not in front of his mac he's always one to try the next extreme sport, from snowboarding to kitesurfing, he's tried them all and usually broken some bones along the way!
